Mangere Mountain Education Centre has over 10 years' experience in delivering enquiry-led, out-of-classroom learning experiences to school groups. Our programmes are linked to the NZ curriculum and offer a wide range of learning opportunities. We can cater for school groups up to 50 students per half-day, and the cost is very reasonable at just $15 + GST per head. *alternative prices may be available for some schools. Please ask.
School trips usually involve a guided walk over the Mangere Mountain followed by a hands-on educational workshop at our custom-built Visitor Centre. Choose from popular classes such as Kite Making, Basic Weaving, Medicinal Gardens and more.
Topics covered may include Science, Geology, Social Studies, History and Māori Culture. We find that children really enjoy the experience and learn a lot in their half-day with us. We can tailor your visit to support a particular learning topic that you wish to pursue. Please discuss your requirement with our friendly staff.
